Story
Hi guys!
You’ve seen me off to Oman to help Arabian leopards, Namibia to help cheetahs, Broome to help turtles and Thailand to help elephants. This time I need YOUR help to help the moon bears of China!
Most of you may not know this but moon bears in China are trapped on brutal farms so that their bile may be extracted from their gall bladders for use in traditional medicine. Their cages are no bigger than their own bodies and they are deliberately denied adequate food while their bile is removed through rusting metal catheters that are implanted deep into their gall bladders. The pain is excruciating and this agony can be endured for up to 30 years!
Animals Asia is advocating for this practice to end and has rescued over 275 bears and placed them in sanctuaries where they can carry out their natural lives free from pain and suffering.
So, in order to help Animals Asia with their important work I am completing a 5 day trekking challenge along the Great Wall of China to raise money for a great cause! I’ll also get to see the sanctuary where these moon bears stay when they are rescued so it’s not a scam! You know that exercise and me don’t get along so a 5 day trek is going to be tough! So even if you’re not an animal lover then do it for me!
